Common Questions Answered

Everything businesses need to know before opening a corporate or LLP trading account with Nikunj.

No. Corporate accounts can only be opened offline, unlike resident individual accounts which can be opened entirely online. This is because the documentation required depends on the KYC status of the company and its directors, and involves verification steps that cannot be completed through a purely digital process. Your dedicated account manager will guide you through each step.

The documents required depend on the KYC status of the company and its directors, and include the company PAN card, Certificate of Incorporation, MOA & AOA, board resolution, list of directors and authorised signatories, shareholding pattern, audited financials and ITR for the last two years, FATCA/UBO declarations, GST certificate, and KYC of directors. See the full checklist in the Documentation section above. All documents must be within their validity period when submitted — if any expire before the process is complete, new copies will be required.

For LLPs and partnership firms, the required documents include the Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed, balance sheets for the last two financial years, ITR acknowledgements, an updated 3-month bank statement, FATCA declaration, list of partners, and KYC documents (PAN, address proof, photograph) for all partners. See the full LLP checklist in the Documentation section above.

Most documents must be signed and stamped by an authorised signatory of the company or LLP. However, certain documents — such as the Board Resolution and the List of Authorised Signatories — must specifically be signed and stamped by a different director or partner than the one being authorised, as a control measure. Your account manager will clarify exactly who needs to sign each document.

A Power of Attorney on ₹20 stamp paper is required only if the company wants to trade in the F&O (derivatives) segment. It is not required for standard equity delivery trading.

Yes, individual CKYC is required for all directors of the company, except those specifically listed as independent directors on the company's director list. Independent director status must be clearly marked on the list submitted.

If any individual holds more than 10% of the company's shares, you will need to provide that individual's Aadhaar card and PAN in addition to the standard documents. If the more-than-10% shareholder is itself a corporate entity, you will need that entity's PAN, list of shareholders, and either its Certificate of Incorporation or MCA extract.

Yes, subject to completing the additional documentation required for derivatives trading, including a Power of Attorney on ₹20 stamp paper. Your account manager will confirm the exact requirements and risk disclosures applicable before F&O trading is enabled on your account.

Yes, eligible corporate entities can invest in Nikunj's Portfolio Management Services, subject to the SEBI-mandated minimum investment threshold and standard PMS documentation in addition to the corporate account documents.

Timelines depend on how quickly your business can assemble the required documentation, since several documents need internal sign-offs (board resolutions, authorised signatory lists) before submission. Once a complete set of valid documents is submitted, our compliance team verifies and processes the account as quickly as possible. Your account manager will give you a realistic timeline based on your specific entity type.
